In search of technical authoring tools?

A checker software does not think in the writer's place. Simplified Technical English training, although only a fraction of the cost of such supposed “full implementation”, achieves 75% of the benefits and results of an approach that includes checker software. Bear in mind that using checker software without proper training will do more harm than good. The tool cannot replace the writer, although it can certainly assist him.

  1. In my experience, the tool is far less important than the mind set. If a person wants to reduce their workload then they'll find a way to do so with or without any given tool. And if they don't, they won't.

  2. I think authoring tools can just assist a person in creating documents in an efficient way & provide good structuring of data in documents with less human efforts but it can't replace the human brain & its thought process which is required for analysis of source data.
